Our client offered us to carry out this interesting transportation from St. Petersburg to Geneva. The boats themselves do not take up much space, but their main feature was their fragility. Since the cargo could not be stacked, the sender prepared a wooden case for every unit. The entire LTL cargo for export was placed in 10 boxes; five of them were 3.65mx0.85mx0.46m and five of 2.55mx1.4mx0.7m. The overall weight of the shipment was 1,660 kg, and occupied the volume was approximately 19.5m3. Since the dimensions of the shipment allowed, as well as in order to save the customer’s money, it was decided to transport the cargo in LTL mode.
In addition to direct transportation, we also executed goods declaration for the client. The route was chosen taking into account all the current logistical realities: first of all the cargo arrived at TRASKO warehouse in Krekshino (Moscow region), then moved to the consolidation warehouse in Vilnius with a transfer to a European road tractor at the TLC in the Republic of Belarus.
However, arrival to the destination point was not the final one. It turned out that there were no technical means to unload boxes and the LTL cargo was unloaded at a nearby warehouse. Overall the shipment was successfully delivered to the client in accordance with the agreed terms having covered about 2,800 km.
