Project

In the autumn of 2022, the client informed us about the plans to transport mining equipment from Opava (The Czech Republic) to Kemerovo (Russia). We took part in the tender and our proposal to the customer luckily became the most profitable. A few words about the cargo: the so-called shaft lining in order to support the roof of the shaft. Each shaft weighs about 17.4 tons.

Overall, the customer planned to transport 60 units of equipment with a total weight of about 1040 tons. Development of the most optimal option for cargo delivery from the Czech Republic to Kuzbass was made by TRASKO branch in Poland together with the project railway transportation department of the company.

Transportation of the cargo was carried out on low-frame trawls due to its dimensions. Our Polish team was responsible for the process of transporting cargo by road from the destination point in Opava to the Adampol terminal (Malaszewicze) as well as controlled the loading onto Polish platforms and delivery of cargo by rail to Brest (Belarus). The first car couplings of three platforms arrived to Brest in early November.

After shaft lining were delivered to Brest, the transshipment to the Russian platforms and delivery to the final destination point in Kemerovo (Russia) was controlled by the project railway transportation department of TRASKO. The distance that the cargo had to cover from Brest to Kemerovo was 4,799 km. 22 universal platforms were used to hold the delivery. The first train, sent from Brest on November 5, arrived to the station of destination on November 18, just in 13 days after the start.

16 platforms were overloaded and sent through Brest during November. The last train of the six platforms was sent from Brest on December 8. Thus, almost a month the entire transportation was successfully implemented.

Within the frames of the project, TRASKO provided a whole range of services to the client including the development and coordination the loading scheme, provision of universal platforms for the Brest-Kemerovo railway journey, held insurance of the cargo. The company also made the necessary freight payments on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and Russia as well as performed loading and unloading operations and placement of cargo in the warehouse of temporary storage. We also carried out cargo declaration and registered the accompanying set of transportation documents.

Over the years of successful work the project railway transportation department of TRASKO implemented many delivery projects of various complexities. Our specialists are ready to offer you the optimal solution to your logistics tasks with a focus on the economic and logistical efficiency of transportation.
